विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस   विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस के अवसर पर हमें प्राकृतिक संसाधनों के प्रति संवेदनशीलता और उनके संरक्षण के प्रति प्रतिबद्धता को मजबूत करने का समय है। इस दिवस को याद करते हुए, हमें पर्यावरण संरक्षण के लिए कदम उठाने और स्थायी समृद्धि के दिशानिर्देश निर्धारित करने का संकल्प लेना चाहिए। विश्व पर्यावरण दिवस को हर साल 5 जून को मनाया जाता है। इसकी शुरुआत 1972 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र की पर्यावरण सम्मेलन में हुई थी, जिसमें पर्यावरण संरक्षण को बढ़ावा देने के लिए एक संविधान बनाया गया था। इतिहास पर्यावरण दिवस का इतिहास 1972 में संयुक्त राष्ट्र की पर्यावरण और विकास समिति (UNEP) द्वारा स्थापित किया गया था। यह दिन प्रत्येक वर्ष 5 जून को मनाया जाता है और पर्यावरण संरक्षण की महत्वपूर्णता को जागरूक करने के लिए विश्वभर में उत्साह से मनाया जाता है। यह दिन पर्यावरण संरक्षण के लिए जागरूकता बढ़ाने, कार्यों को संबोधित करने और जागरूकता बढ़ाने का एक अच्छा मौका प्रदान करता है। आयोजन पर्यावरण दिवस के आयोजन में विभिन्न संगठन, सरकारी विभाग और समुदायों द्वारा विशेष कार्यक्रम आयोजित किए जाते हैं। इनमें प्रद...

What does policy market mean?(पॉलिसी बाजार का मतलब क्या होता है?)

Policy market  is an Indian insurance aggregator and multinational financial technology company based in Gurgaon. The company was founded in June 2008 by Yashish Dahiya, Alok Bansal and Avnish Nirjar.  It offers a digital platform—a website and an app—where users can compare insurance policies and other financial services from major insurance companies. The company is India's largest insurance aggregator, and has expanded its operations to the United Arab Emirates

PolicyBazaar sells different types of policies like life insurance, health insurance, car insurance, two-wheeler insurance, etc. Instead of estimating for all of these categories, let's take one – car insurance – and estimate for that.
  • As of 2018, there were approximately 230 million registered vehicles in India. Assuming about 20 of them are four-wheelers, then 46 million cars.
  • Car insurance policies are usually annual, so every car will need insurance renewal or purchase once a year. So, in a month, approximately 46M/12 = 3.8 million cars will need insurance.
  • Assuming around 10 of these insurances are processed through PolicyBazaar, we get 380,000 car insurance policies sold through PolicyBazaar in a month.
Grant(अनुदान)
Since its inception in 2008, Policybazaar.com has raised US$366 million across seven rounds of funding. 

Info Edge, which runs online job portal Naukri.com, invested ₹30 crore (US$6.9 million) as seed fund in Policybazaar in mid-2008.  Intel Capital and Info Edge invested ₹60 crore (US$12.86 million) in Policybazaar in May 2011 as part of a venture round. 

PolicyBazaar raised US$9 million from Intel Capital and Inventus Capital Partners in its Series A investment round. PolicyBazaar raised US$5 million in its third round of funding in April 2013. This Series B investment was led by Inventus Capital Partners along with Info Edge and Intel Capital. In May 2014, PolicyBazaar.com raised $20 million in Series C round of funding from existing investors including Tiger Global Management. 
PolicyBazaar raised approximately US$40 million in April 2015 in a Series D round of funding from Wipro Chairman Azim Premji's private investment vehicle, Premji Invest. The Series D also attracted money from Steadview Capital and ABG Capital. Policybazaar raised US$77 million in its Series E funding round. It was led by at least three new investors, with True North and IDG Venture Partners investing in the round. Additionally, several media reports claimed that Boston-based asset management firm Wellington Management Group has invested in the online insurance aggregator. 

PolicyBazaar raised a total of US$238 million in its Series F funding in June 2018. Tokyo-based SoftBank Group's Vision Fund led the round with its US$150 million investment, which gave it a 15% stake in Policybazaar, the parent company of eTechAcess Marketing & Consulting. In a Series F investment, Info Edge invested $45 million in the company through a special purpose vehicle, effectively increasing its stake from 9 to 13.  SoftBank invested an additional $130 million in July 2020 to increase its stake to 15, valuing PolicyBazaar at approximately US$1.5 billion.
In November 2021, Policybazaar's parent company, PB Fintech Limited, opened its initial public offering (IPO) and raised ₹5,625 crore (US$700 million).  Shares of PB Fintech Ltd began trading on the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange on 15 November 2021
